What To Expect On Your First Appointment

First Appointment

A receptionist will welcome you when you arrive and guide you through any necessary paperwork as a new patient. From the waiting area, a member of our team will accompany you to a treatment room and review your dental history and any dental health concerns.

The dentist first examines new patients for a thorough dental exam. During this visit, the dentist will review your health history and address any concerns you may have. It takes about an hour for our dental team to conduct the initial exam to see if you have any dental issues, such as gum disease or cavities. During your exam, your dentist will determine your treatment options and develop a personalized plan for you.

Sedation and relaxation options

Dental appointments can be a nerve-wracking experience for some people. For your comfort, we offer sedation options. These options include nitrous oxide (also known as “happy gas”) in the form of inhalation sedation, oral sedation, and IV sedation (via an external anaesthetist). Feel free to let us know if you need sedation when making an appointment. Our friendly team will be more than happy to help.
